I watched the sun go down today,
an orange twilight just by the bay.
Craters opened up inside my soul,
I thought I was a rock which didn’t roll.
But you took me in and let me stay,
under the stars you let me lay.
Mended my conscience with your dreams,
listened to my silence and my screams.
Carried me with you to the other side,
didn’t let me run and didn’t let me hide.
I stand now where all the lovers roam,
you were then and always be my home.
I stood and listened to the sparrow’s songs,
my days were numbered and nights long.
Beneath the heap of miseries I survived,
my hopes of romance had prematurely died.
You came along with your heart of gold,
made me see the forgotten poems of old.
Crafted stories that touched me like magic,
the endings were happy and never tragic.
Took me with you and flew me to the moon,
always remained and never left too soon.
I stand now where all the lovers roam,
you were then and always be my home.
